The Seattle Times Account Executive in Seattle, Washington

Seattle Times Media Solutions is seeking a success-driven Account Executive to join our advertising sales team!  Seattle Times Media Solutions (https://mediasolutions.seattletimes.com/) is a digital agency providing advertisers a full suite of solutions for their local marketing needs. The Seattle Times and seattletimes.com reach more northwest adults than any other local media company. The Account Executive in role will primarily focus on new account development, working in a role designed to cultivate prospective customers utilizing our CRM and selected lead generation tools. In addition, the Account Executive will be responsible for outreach and sales to a set of current clients for both transactional and longer-term advertising campaigns.

 

STMS supports our Account Executives and clients with a full staff to assist with pre-sale and post-sale research, account management, campaign optimization and analysis. 

 

We are looking to hire a motivated multi-media sales consultant with knowledge of digital media. We provide continuous digital marketing and sales development training to increase your knowledge and sales skills.

 

Work Location: This is a hybrid role requiring about two days per week in the Seattle office. (1000 Denny Way). No travel required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

  • Account Executive I: Some digital advertising sales experience preferred

  • Account Executive II: At least two years’ digital advertising sales experience

  • Basic understanding of digital media offerings and capabilities

  • Understanding of how to utilize a CRM system to track your sales pipeline

  • Able to identify, qualify, generate, and track new business

  • Demonstrated persuasive, negotiation, and closing skills

  • Networking abilities, both “in-person” and online

  • Ability to manage and grow a book of existing business

  • Preference for applicants with B2B sales with media solutions experience

     

    Compensation:  

    Account Executive I: The salary range for this position is $73,000 to $82,000, which includes annual base pay of $49,000 to $58,000 in addition to potential annual commission earnings of $24,000 (with no cap). Commission pay for the first three months of employment is guaranteed at $2,000 per month.

    Account Executive II: The salary range for this position is $78,250 to $88,250, which includes annual base pay of $54,250 to $64,250 in addition to potential annual commission earnings of $24,000 (with no cap). Commission pay for the first three months of employment is guaranteed at $2,000 per month.

    Please Note: This position requires you to join a union and pay ongoing union dues each month. In addition, you will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screen for controlled substances (excluding marijuana) and a criminal background check once an offer has been made.
