Price Chopper Store Facility Maintenance Mgr in Schenectady, New York
Pay Range: $82,633.00- $129,247.00
SUMMARY
Manage all store facilities maintenance, including building, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, electrical, and refrigeration, energy management, and utility systems to insure all is properly maintained and operating efficiently with minimal downtime and at budgeted cost and to include the supervision of in-house carpentry, general maintenance, refrigeration, food equipment and electrical techs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and supervise refrigeration and plumbing journeyman, food equipment technicians, and general maintenance and carpentry (as needed), to ensure that all scheduled jobs are completed efficiently and effectively (both internal and external vendors and technicians). Supervise and schedule the maintenance and repair of store mechanical equipment according to established guidelines (i.e.: HVAC equipment and fixtures, refrigeration, exhaust and plumbing, food equipment, electrical). Prioritize tasks depending on urgency based on company objectives, associates and customer’s health and safety. Develop appropriate problem solving and alternative solution techniques with situations that occur in the field. Supervise repairs of energy management controls as required. Responsible for overseeing the installation of mechanical equipment in store facilities and ensures that all specifications pertaining to each project are adhered to. Identify competent external contractors, negotiate rates, and assure conformance with established procedures, budgetary guidelines and insurance requirements. Supervise and monitor work of external contactors and develop report to ensure vendor accountability, especially in remote store locations. Responsible for ensuring the effective use and appropriate levels of mechanical equipment inventory (i.e.: truck inventories and shop inventories). Ensures that emergency service is handled within four hours. Evaluate emergency hazard to determine needs. Follow through with permanent repair. Conduct safety meetings with staff and outside contractors on a regular basis. Participate in training opportunities to keep updated with the latest technology within the field. Assist in the preparation of the capital budget for replacement equipment, and external maintenance. Perform all other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Must be available to be on call 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week of your schedule call rotation for supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Satisfactory performance reviews. Strong communication skills. Available to work flexible hours as required. Must have a Valid Driver’s License. Must be 21 years of age. Must submit to DL Monitoring.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Vocational/Specialized Training and 5+ years applicable experience in commercial refrigeration OR 10+ years combined education/experience in related fields, including supervision of work.
