Competency Lead – Full Time, 1st Shift

Seeking a motivated Competency Lead to join our team. Responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and controls.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • Schedule: Tuesday – Friday 8AM – 6PM, 10-hour shifts.

  • $24.17 per hour

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:

  • Serve as a valuable resource and point of reference for new hires during the onboarding process, providing guidance, support, and answering questions to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.

  • Conduct regular check-ins with trainers and new hires to monitor progress, address challenges, and provide constructive feedback for improvement, fostering a supportive learning environment.

  • Work closely with production teams to understand specific training needs and align training sessions with operational requirements, ensuring that new hires receive the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts in different disciplines across the factory to ensure accurate and comprehensive training materials for area of responsibility.

  • Assist in guiding the training experience for new hires, collaborating with the Training Coordinator to determine trainer and new hire allocations based on the roster, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.

  • Become a subject-matter-expert in using Education and Training Methodologies, supporting technical skill development on assigned shift.

  • Work autonomously to conduct and facilitate training while adapting to different learning styles.

  • Assist on special teams and projects as needed and/or requested.

  • Participate in all site Safety and Quality initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or related industry experience preferred.

  • 1 year of training experience preferred. Training experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

  • Experience with problem solving and/or continuous improvement techniques preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills

  • Proficient with digital tools (tablet, Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Ability to influence and motivate a team of peers

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations processes (how upstream events affect downstream, inputs and outputs, performance)

  • Ability to plan and execute a training development plan

  • Strong understanding of basic problem-solving techniques preferred

  • English and Spanish preferred
