Job Description
We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Sarasota, FL. This role involves performing field inspections and investigations by collecting high-quality and accurate data. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors and has some mechanical or technical aptitude.
Responsibilities
Perform field inspections and investigations by collecting high-quality and accurate data
Conduct manhole inspections and record various structure attributes, identifying defects
Perform smoke testing and record defects encountered
Measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage through night flow isolations
Conduct dye testing for water tracing and dye water flooding
Install and maintain open channel flow metering equipment for flow monitoring
Work in confined spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes
Walk outside through various terrains in extreme heat and cold
Essential Skills
High School diploma or GED
Ability to travel
Willingness to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines
Ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification
Basic computer skills
Good technical skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous skilled trade experience preferred but not required
Mechanical or technical aptitude
Experience in trades, surveying, or SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) is a plus
Ability to adapt to changes in project scope or location
Comfortable working outdoors for long periods
Work Environment
This position requires digging in yards to uncover water lines adjacent to the water meter to verify pipe material. The role involves significant walking through various terrains and working in extreme weather conditions. The culture encourages independent work without micromanagement and supports innovative ideas. The work performed helps the environment by preventing cave-ins and sewage leaks/spillovers. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
