Sarasota County Government Building Attendant Trades Worker - General Services in Sarasota, Florida

Do you have experience with building maintenance and using handheld tools? In this role, you will help work to maintain the grounds, interior, exterior, and equipment of county-owned and operated facilities. Apply today!

  • Empty exterior trash around buildings and in parking lots.

  • Pick up, sweep, or blow debris from around county buildings and property.

  • Clean restrooms or building interiors if not under contract or require secondary cleaning due to heavy usage.

  • Perform light building maintenance work in buildings, i.e., change light bulbs, unclog toilets, paint, etc.

  • Inspect the building and report all unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.

  • Complete the required paperwork for work completed.

  • Inspect custodial Contractors' work.

  • Monitor storeroom supplies and refill when needed.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. *On-Call Required.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent

  • One year of experience in the applicable trade

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of hire

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of small hand tools and lawn equipment (hand blowers)

Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

CJIS Clearance: **The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $17.33 (Step 1) may be higher based on experience
