Job Title: Operations Infrastructure Engineer - Linux Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW:

Jostens is seeking a talented and motivated Operations Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Linux environments to join our dynamic team. As an Operations Infrastructure Engineer - Linux Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our Linux-based systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and support various business applications and management tools crucial to Jostens' operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Jostens' Linux-based infrastructure, including servers hosting critical business applications and management tools.

• Install, configure, and optimize Linux systems to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Linux systems with existing infrastructure components and ensure seamless operation and performance.

• Implement security measures and best practices to protect Linux environments from threats and vulnerabilities, leveraging modern security tools and compliance standards.

• Utilize Spacewalk, Ansible, AWX, and Grafana monitoring systems for server lifecycle management, automation, and performance monitoring.

• Participate in database management tasks, including managing databases running on Linux virtual machines (VMs) within VMware environments.

• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides tailored to Jostens' Linux environment.

• Provide technical support and assistance to internal users, troubleshooting and resolving Linux-related issues in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to support and enhance Jostens' Linux infrastructure.

• Participate in an on-call rotation as the first line of support for all Infrastructure incidents outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in operations engineering, with a focus on managing and supporting Linux environments.

• Proficiency in Linux administration, including installation, configuration, and ongoing administration tasks.

• Strong knowledge of Linux administration, including command-line operations, package management, user administration, and file system management.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash for automation and system administration tasks.

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware for managing virtualized Linux environments.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Spacewalk, Ansible, AWX, and Grafana monitoring systems.

• Experience with database management on Linux environments.

• Understanding of security compliance standards and modern security tools for Linux environments.
