Amergis Electrophysiology Technician (EP Tech) in Santa Rosa, California
The Electrophysiology Technician (EP Tech) performs diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions per physician orders. The Electrophysiology (EP) Tech is responsible for supporting the cardiologist during cardiac procedures, preparing the patient for procedures and ensuring all equipment and instrumentation is in working order. The Electrophysiology (EP) Tech will place cardiac electrophysiology catheters, interpret data and read electrocardiograms. The Electrophysiology Technician will provide specialized technical support and assist the physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains inventory of medical equipment and supplies
Prepares equipment for surgery and alternate procedures to ensure sterility, assembling devicesand preparing solutions
Records patients past medical history, current vitals, height and weight
Prepares patients for electrocardiogram testing
Monitors patients EKG and reports rhythm disturbances to physician
Placement of EP catheter, reading electrocardiograms, interpretation of recordings
Cleans equipment and may perform preventative maintenance after each use; reports anymalfunctions immediately
Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two (2) years of experience in (EP/Cath Lab preferred)
Electrophysiology Technician certification or applicable certification required by state, contractor client requirements
Current physical exam if required by state regulations or contract specifications
Current TB test or chest x-ray
Current BLS card per state requirement or contract requirement
Attention to detail
Strong verbal communication
