Amazon’s Worldwide XCM Marketing organization (XCM: Cross-Category, Cross-Channel Marketing) is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer who is customer obsessed and entrepreneurial to help our global marketing organization build the most progressive tools, techniques and technologies for the modern marketer in order to engage our customers more effectively and more efficiently.

As a Software Development Engineer in the XCM MODE-Tech team (MODE: Media, Operations, Data & Execution), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering complex, low-latency, and high throughput software products that construct a holistic system to pave the way for long-term marketing-wise scaling, automation and AI/ML optimization efforts with the ultimate goal of improving marketing effectiveness and efficiency, including campaign metadata and digital asset management systems, data processing and ML infrastructure serving experimentation and productionization of causal measurement and ML models at scale. You will partner closely with other engineers, Data & Applied Scientists, Economists, Product Managers, and our external advertising agencies, publishers, and vendors to accomplish our mission.
Key job responsibilities
Building both internal and customer-facing applications, tools, and platforms that streamline and scale the Amazon Marketing tech stack.
Participating in all stages of the development life-cycle, spanning design, development, testing, and operation.
Iterating on product features based on user feedback.
Building and operating entire applications end-to-end, across UI, API, Database, and Infrastructure.
Participating in design and security reviews for team members to help improve the quality of all our services.
Generating new ideas for improving operational capabilities for the Amazon MODE-Tech team.
About the team
On this team, you will have opportunities to drive greenfield initiatives across Amazon's marketing technology landscape, with impact across LOBs and marketplaces.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
