Come join our Venice Family Clinic team as a Dental Assistant. Under the guidance and general supervision of the Senior Dentist, you will perform dental assisting for our Venice Family Clinic's dental program at our Simms dental office on 2509 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica (primary location), and will rotate as needed to our Colen dental office on 4700 Inglewood Blvd. in Los Angeles and South Bay Family Health Care office on 2114 Artesia Blvd. in Redondo Beach. Duties include the coordination of patient flow, and providing dental assistance to dentists and dental hygienists in both clinical and community settings.

Salary range: $23.95-$31.58 HourlyQualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Certification in radiography to operate dental X-ray equipment and perform dental radiographic procedures from a California Dental Board-approved school.

  • A California Dental Board-approved course in the California Dental Practice Act.

  • Working knowledge of current dental terminology, materials, equipment, and procedures related to dentistry.

  • Good bilingual verbal language skills in both English and Spanish.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Completion of a California Dental Board-approved course in infection control, and working knowledge of principles of asepsis, sterilization procedures, and infection control.

  • Ability to organize and maintain an inventory of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in the dental operatory.

  • Ability to handle multiple demands and frequent interruptions and maintain a professional demeanor.

  • Working knowledge of four-handed dentistry.

  • Ability to work with people of various socio-economic status, and work with infectious disease patients.

  • Ability to travel as needed to our other locations in Redondo Beach and Los Angeles for coverage.
