Amergis Unlicensed Social Worker / Counselor in Santa Maria, California
Amergis Staffing is currently seeking ACSW/MFTA for the 2024/2025 school year in the Santa Maria, CA & surrounding areas
Position Details:
Start Date: Upon completion of onboarding
Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Length: 2024/2025 School Year
Requirements: Prior experience working with children or as a caregiver is required. School Aide/Para duties as assigned. Must be comfortable with toileting and changing.

The Unlicensed Social Worker/Counselor/Mental HealthClinician provides counseling to patient’s in a variety of settings includingmedical facilities, hospitals, clinics, learning centers and otherorganizations that are in need of assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides necessary counseling as required for thepatient/client
Assesses the patient/clients’ psychosocial needs, andevaluate the progress with the care team and/or supervisor
Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate goalsfor each patient/client
Focuses on assisting patients/clients through the dischargeprocess of both in and out-patient treatment facilities as applicable
Utilizes a variety of therapy techniques and treatment plans
Facilitates patient progress and referrals with otheragencies
Adheres to all Amergis and Facility policies andprocedures
Observes and reports patient/client progress per facilityprotocol
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contractrequirements
The Counselor may possess an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’sDegree or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling,Nursing or other Human Development Major
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
