CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
Day shift CNC Lathe setup machinist needed for a machine shop in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This role involves working primarily with Okuma machines. The pay rate will be between $30-$40 an hour based on experience.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC Lathe machines, specifically Okuma models.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
Perform inspections and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
Execute programming tasks as required.
Perform offsets and changeovers efficiently.
Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Essential Skills
Previous experience in a machine shop environment.
Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Lathe machines.
Strong skills in reading blueprints and schematics.
Ability to work with very tight tolerances.
Effective communication skills in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in an aerospace machine shop is a huge plus.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a 50,000 sq/ft machine shop operating on the 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The facility houses over 50 CNC machines and manufactures parts for various industries including aerospace, military, automotive, and medical equipment. Candidates should be comfortable working in an environment that produces parts for military purposes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
