Job Title: Sr. Program Manager
Job Description
As Program Manager, you will serve as the principal point of contact to key military and commercial customers by showcasing your technical program leadership within the Rugged Embedded Computing industry. You will demonstrate your seniority in the Defense and Aerospace embedded environment by managing technical, multi-million dollar budgets, scheduling, and leading action-oriented teams in the execution of integrated systems development programs.
Responsibilities
Familiarize yourself with the architecture and implementation of complex VME board products and integrated systems for Defense and Aerospace, hardware development processes, and integration and test requirements and methodologies.
Take ownership of schedule and cost management on managed programs, holding program and proposal reviews, establishing baselines for planned cost, design configuration, and schedule.
Establish and track metrics to monitor performance and progress.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams within a matrixed organization.
Act as a central authority for the company in its relationship with internal and external customers.
Establish program status reporting to anticipate and take corrective action in problem areas before they occur, with the appropriate line organization.
Develop contingency plans in potential risk areas and identify contingency plan deployment criteria to resolve potential problems, reporting potential problems to upper management.
Ensure pertinent written records are maintained that document all agreements and commitments related to the project.
Actively pursue new business and coordinate proposal responses to both formal RFPs and informal inquiries.
Work with Engineering and support organizations to analyze proposals with respect to cost, risk, and quality, lead source selections and negotiation teams, and monitor subcontract costs, schedules, and technical performance.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).
PMP or MBA is desirable.
A minimum of 10 years of related experience.
Extensive in strategic planning, competitive assessments, and bidding/acquisition of multi-million dollar contracts.
Experience working with the Defense and Aerospace customer community and serving as a principal point of contact to key military and commercial customers.
Management leadership of annual multi-million dollar budgets.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially in team building/maintenance and customer relationships.
Technical and program leadership experience and familiarity with the Single Board Computer industry and integrated systems development.
Experience with customer communications, negotiations, and proposal management.
Ability to contribute to weekly and monthly strategic planning, plan execution, and technology roadmap updates.
Ability to keep team members focused on schedule milestones and objectives and motivate them to develop cost-effective, customer-oriented solutions and approaches.
Ability to lead by action and example.
Ability to act independently and make decisions on administrative/operational issues affecting the success of the organization.
Must be and able to obtain and maintain DOD Security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the Rugged Embedded Computing industry.
Strong knowledge of the hardware development process and integration and test requirements.
Work Environment
You will work with a team of Program Managers and report to management. You will need to collaborate with the floor, engineers, and customers to ensure on-time delivery. Effective communication with team members and customers regarding due dates is critical. This role requires making independent decisions on administrative and operational issues to ensure the success of the organization
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $91.35/hr.
