Description
The Director of Systems Integration will own the definition and integration of modular solutions to build a scalable OTTAVA robotic surgical business impacting millions of patients and expanding the capabilities of physicians globally.

This director will be a key technical and strategic leader on one of the most exciting programs and J&J and in healthcare in general! The candidate must bring a strong blend of technical ability and people leadership to bear on this critical role. They must also balance depth in robotics with a passionate focus on understanding and meeting the needs of clinicians and operating room staff.
Responsibilities
Lead and grow a team of 40 engineers and managers in the integration of complex robotic hardware and software across all capital subsystems and the full system level
Establish team initiatives to achieve program goals and improve functional excellence in mechatronic design and prototyping, hardware/software integration, incorporating clinical feedback into design, characterization and test design, and system bring-up and stabilization
Champion teamwork between the OTTAVA Hardware, Software, Clinical, and Systems Engineering teams
Mentor and coach senior managers, managers, and individual contributors
Maintain functional alignment within OTTAVA R&D leadership
Provide strategic integration mentorship to OTTAVA Senior Leadership
Qualifications
Qualifications
A minimum of Masters’ degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar Engineering field is required
10 years of Research & Development experience in engineering or related function is required
8 years of industry experience is required.
3 years of people management experience with direct reports is required
Previous experience in hardware/software integration is required
Demonstration of successfully bringing complex products from concept to formal testing (e.g. verification & validation) is an asset.
Experience with the design of robotic systems in healthcare is preferred.
Previous experience successfully launching medical device products is beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to effectively recruit, develop, manage and coach associates (including manager level talent) to strengthen organizational capabilities is highly desirable
Demonstrated success in partnering and influencing across a matrix environment is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and partners is required
Ability to travel up to 10%, international and domestic, is required
The anticipated salary range for this role is $193,000-$312,110
