Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This role involves preparing products for systems-level assembly, including unpacking, set-up assembly, final packaging, and repair as necessary. The position offers a 4/10 schedule with a first shift from 5 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential requirements for additional work on Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Access and utilize appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment.

  • Verify kits, enter batch lot information, and package and label accessory items according to documented instructions.

  • Use appropriate mats and all required tooling.

  • Check equipment such as torque wrenches and screwdrivers to ensure proper performance.

  • Utilize manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision.

  • Assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies.

  • Notify leadership of any shutdown situations.

  • Enter data into the Process Feedback System (PFS) and link subassemblies to the final unit.

  • Enter quantities into Operations Complete (Baan) when required.

  • Ensure the quality of work meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble units in certified repair operations.

  • Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under minimal supervision.

Essential Skills

  • 1-3 years of mechanical assembly experience, preferably in electronics.

  • Ability to read work instructions, blueprints, and drawings.

  • Proficient in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and soldering tools.

  • Basic computer skills, including logging in and data entry.

  • Familiarity with packaging, labeling, and kitting processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ideally 3+ years of experience in heavy mechanical assembly and SI repair of large and/or complex systems.

  • Good component recognition skills.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

  • Support a 24/7 global business operation as required.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.

Work Environment

The work environment is mainly sitting, with an option for a mix of standing. The facility is clean and fast-paced, working on military and government projects, some of which require top-secret clearance and ITAR compliance. The facility is AS9100 certified and located in a secure communication environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.50/hr.
