Summary The Payroll Tax Administrator requires a great amount of confidentiality, attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, technical competence, the ability to communicate verbally as well as written, and strong organizational skills. The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for day-to-day payroll tax operations and accurate and timely filing of tax reports to agencies. Duties * Properly handles confidentialinformation. * Reconciles payroll tax reporting after each pay run to ensure accuratefilings. * Manage filings of tax updatesweekly. * Processes monthly, quarterly, and year-end taxreporting. * Reconciles payroll taxes to the general ledger and books journalentries. * Reconciles payroll reports to 941's andW2's. * Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions by updating master payrollrecord. * Records data concerning transfer ofemployees. * Prepares periodic taxreports. * Interfaces with other departments and employees to convey employee payrollinformation. * Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and ensures compliance with payrollpolicies. * Performs other related duties as assigned orneeded. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, or finance plus 2-4 years payroll taxexperience. * Strong accountingskills * Proficient inExcel * CMIC experience a plus but notrequired. * Must be able to create reconciliations that clearlycommunicate. * Experience with multi-state payroll tax reportingrequirements. * Experience reconciling and preparing W-2forms. * Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers, and coworkers. * Stressescompliance. * Is systematic, methodical, andthorough. * Excellent interpersonal relations: Communicates well with employees. Has a good working relationship with departments outside ofAccounting. * Has a good understanding of Human Resource laws and policies as they apply toPayroll. * Establishes priorities and a course of action for handling multipletasks. * Maintains the appropriate standards of ethics, conduct and organizational policies in job-relatedactivities. * Experience in the construction industrypreferred
