Cummins Inc. Product Design Technician in Sandwich, United Kingdom

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Product Design Technician to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Power Gen Product Structure in Kent, UK . 

Shifts: Monday to Friday office hours with the advantage of flexible working.

  • Enhancing Product Quality: By creating and checking complex models and drawings, you’ll ensure high-quality specifications that meet all standards.

  • Maintaining Standards: Your work will ensure compliance with company, industry, national, and international standards, maintaining the integrity of Cummins products.

  • Mentoring and Training: By mentoring less experienced Product Designers, you’ll help build a stronger, more knowledgeable team.

  • Improving Efficiency: Utilizing CAD data management tools for configuration control and security will streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Ensuring Precision: Applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing will ensure precise and accurate product specifications.

  • Supporting Engineering: Collaborating with engineering to generate concept models will support innovation and development.

  • Quality Assurance: Participating in Drawing Quality Reviews will help maintain high standards and continuous improvement.

  • Cross-functional Engagement: Engaging with various functional areas will foster collaboration and ensure comprehensive solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

*To be successful in this role you will need the following: *

  • Proficiency with CAD Tools: Experience using CREO (8.0 or higher) and Windchill is essential. Familiarity with CREO Schematic will be an added advantage.

  • Technical Skills in Cabling & Harness Creation: Ability to create and manage cabling and harness designs effectively.

  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing: A solid grasp of GD&T principles to ensure precise and accurate product specifications.

  • Mechanical Design Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to design innovative and robust concepts that meet Cummins and customer expectations throughout the product lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as graphic design.
