Continental Regional Category Buyer in San Luis Potosí - Contitech, Mexico

The ContiTech group sector develops and manufactures, for example, cross-material, environmentally friendly and intelligent products and systems for the automotive industry, railway engineering, mining, agriculture and other key industries. Guided by the vision of “smart and sustainable solutions beyond rubber,” the group sector draws on its long-standing knowledge of the industry and materials to open up new business opportunities by combining various materials with electronic components and individual services.

It is expected from this role to replicate global level strategies, to establish its own regional strategies, to cascade new prices and agreements across locations in the region.

Within the given threshold, must manage supplier commercial inquires, work on RFQs, create and compile Sourcing Decision Sheets, ensure BPCoC and NDA signatures, collect financial and commercial records, identify, select and develop vendors.

To look for and implement synergies across different plants, to create and develop CT strategies in alignment with group Purchasing and global level counterparts.

Starting point for contracts/agreements settlements, in partnership with Legal, plant and other regional purchasing roles and plants manufacturing, engineering and R&D teams. To ensure these agreements are created, approved and signed and to communicate those to the regions and plants.

Escalation level to Plant Purchasing level and internal customers on commercial issues.

Assistant to other purchasing parties on SQM approval processes and external/internal audits.

May be required to assist Global Category colleagues to settle agreements locally in case of local systems accesses needed.

DPO increase, Working Capital reduction

Search for all automation opportunities.

Supplier identification and development starting point.

To execute and maintain purchasing (and correlated) policies at the locations, clear users questions and escalate topics to other purchasing associates if required.

To identify weaknesses points among the users to address specific training or development actions to Process & Systems team.

To approve shopping carts, steer and monitor creation of catalogues and automated replenishment for plant coded items, while promoting the use of existing ones.

To report savings achieved in the given company tools, according to the current management instruction.

Is responsible for new vendors set up and new contracts approval submittal for owned negotiations.

Partner up with GBS hubs to establish automatic replenishment of materials by sharing terms and conditions agreed. New agreements cascaded to the regions/plants or to GDL hub through the given company tools (e-mail, Teams, K2, e-sign), so contracts/agreements and purchase orders are created in SAP, for further materials management.

May be required to assist Global Category colleagues on carts approvals and SAP orders conversion due to local systems accesses needed, on projects above 250kEUR. Develop and sustain relationships with internal customers.

Seek understanding and clarity about stakeholders and plants' overall situation.

Give responses or feedbacks through the given tools in an acceptable period of time.

  • Advanced / Fluent English is required. Spanish and/or Portuguese and/or French are a plus.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in purchasing

  • Project Management experience is desired

  • Have worked in a multicultural environment, good communication skills and proactive approach are required.

  • SAP is desired
