Help protect your data by building security tools within Amazon Security Platform Engineering. We build and manage the tools that Amazon's security teams need to succeed. We bring information to our security partners to help them make the right judgements at the right times. We enable them to automate their own work. We give them what they need to find and stop trouble.

Amazon's security teams work to protect the data of our employees and customers. You may already be an Amazon customer, whether you shop on our retail website or use services built on AWS cloud infrastructure. Key job responsibilities

You will design, implement, and test APIs for managing external software used by our security engineers. You will use AWS services to build highly available infrastructure for these tools. You will implement security controls for our data storage and infrastructure. You will automate deployments, upgrades, and system changes. We're exploring new tools for use by our engineering partners, and you'll influence our course.

You will partner with security engineers and learn how they use our tools to protect Amazon’s operations. You will ensure that our systems can ingest petabytes of incoming data without slowing down. You will participate in oncall operations and keep systems operating for our partners across the company. You’ll uncover opportunities to build skills in cloud computing, security, and data engineering.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with infrastructure as code.

  • Experience with AWS services.

  • Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Amazon Elastic Container Service.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
