Horne LLP Finance Associate - Government Services in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Summary/Objective

Under the direction of the program manager, Associates are responsible for coordination and implementation of invoicing and reporting activities through the programs lifecycle. Associates work closely with Programs sponsor and/or subrecipients and provide reporting oversight needed to internal and external clients.

Essential functions

  • Perform detailed reviews of Programs invoices and progress reports from vendors.
  • Review Programs progress reports invoiced against the monthly progress report for each period.
  • Provide comments for corrections, when needed, to Programs vendors.
  • Perform quality assurance and control reviews of vendor invoice submissions, evidence of work performed is in full compliance with program guidelines.
  • Ensure completeness in each participant and vendors files.
  • Conduct data entry, and maintain digital and manual filing systems.
  • Participate in regular status and progress report meetings with the program team.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Provide any other support tasks needed, as requested.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Public Administration, Project Management, or related field.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Fully Bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

Preferred education and experience

  • Experience in auditing, accounting, payroll, grant management, and federal grant compliance.
  • Knowledge of 2 CFR 200 Subpart E.
