General Description

We are looking for a Cloud Enablement Architect under the Information Technology division. This individual should have a combination of hands-on cloud architecture experience, teamwork mindset and teaching capabilities to assist delivery teams who are consuming Cloud Platform Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working within the Cloud Platform Services team to ensure alignment of platform capabilities to the needs of internal delivery teams.

  • Translate platform capabilities and services into accelerator for development teams.

  • Provides hands-on technical coaching to accelerate cloud learning.

  • Support designs and implementations of solutions based on architectural best practices and cloud Well Architected Frameworks

  • Understands cloud design principles, architectural best practices, and industry standards.

  • Leads the creation of reference architectures and reference implementations for enterprise standard technologies.

  • Supports implementation of large migrations of existing applications to AWS.

  • Supports design and implementation of enterprise data platforms using a combination of AWS and other cloud services.

  • Provides guidance to Platform engineering colleagues for implementing codified stacks that meet the consuming applications' needs.

  • Participates in establishing architectural standards that enable DevSeCOps practices like infrastructure as code, policy as code and CI/CD.

  • Actively contributes to the development and validation of cloud policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Constantly develop knowledge base of current and emerging technologies. Research new and emerging solutions. Assesses their relevance and potential value to the organization and present information to teammates and management.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.

Preferred Certificates and Licenses

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience.

  • 5+ years working with public cloud platforms. At least 3 with AWS.

  • Experience with data center operations.

  • Extensive knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and storage.

  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for small, medium scale, and enterprise-level applications in a highly regulated environment.

  • Broad experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping of new environments, server builds, data migration, and performance tuning of cloud environments.

  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and working in an agile environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.

  • Innovative and ability to think outside the box for creative problem-solving.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds, levels, and technical expertise.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy, intuitive, assertive, proactive, and positive.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment.

  • Keen interest in new technologies, willingness to research, and self-study to keep skills relevant.

  • Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to operate with minimal supervision.

  • Experience in financial services/banking a plus.

  • Experience in agile/scrum environment is a plus
