We are also the home of Alexa, an AI personal assistant to provide information, answer questions, play music, control your smart home and much more. Alexa is integrated into many of our products and partner products and many thousands of devices work with Alexa.
The Alexa Domains Design & Research team is looking for a Senior Conversation Designer to help envision and deliver how customers converse with Alexa as their AI personal assistant across a variety of experiences, like household tasks, music experiences and communicating with household members. The ideal candidate can lead through their work and is comfortable with all stages of the product lifecycle; from early generative research to initial product definition, from white boarding new conversation design frameworks to creating highly refined prototypes. From pitching new concepts to internal and external stakeholders to testing new concepts with customers. A successful candidate will have a excellent track-record of designing and delivering high-quality and widely-adopted consumer products.
Key job responsibilities
Create world-class, user-centered conversation experiences through consideration of UX research, market research, business requirements, customer feedback, and usability study findings
Demonstrate leadership in driving design processes into the organization that help refine strategy.
Translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements
Design the interface and interaction flow of new voice and multimodal applications
Develop conceptual diagrams and voice interaction prototypes
Develop and maintain detailed design specifications
Present design work to the user experience team, product team, engineering team, Alexa leadership, and external partners for review and feedback
Work with our usability and data mining teams to assess and optimize new and existing features
Develop high level strategy for customers for both near and long term.
Collaborate with other design team members on experiences, frameworks, process, and best practices.

Basic Qualifications
6+ years of design experience
Have an available online portfolio
Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or their functional equivalents and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajaz
Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
