DoorDash Senior Manager / GM, New Verticals - Gift Cards Strategy & Operations in San Francisco, California

About the Team

Our New Verticals team launched in 2020 with the purpose of delighting our customers and empowering our local economies outside of just restaurants. Since then, we’ve launched Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, Retail, and our DashMart businesses! Our next big bet is mastering the Gift Card business.

About the Role

You will own building our Gift Card strategy across all of DoorDash and brick & mortar retailers for the first time. You will be responsible for defining, executing, and optimizing growth initiatives to provide customers with an excellent shopping experience and a one stop shop for their Gift Card needs. You will work cross-functionally with the GMs of every line of business at DoorDash, our enterprise partner managers, product, finance and many more! You will also lead a team of strategy & operations professionals. You will report into a Director on our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team. We are operating in a hybrid model with some time in-office and some time remote.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • You’re action oriented. You can implement scalable initiatives and best practices to provide a world-class operation for our three-sided marketplace.

  • You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to think innovatively, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking. You are consumer first, and not competitor focused.

  • You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team.

  • You experiment with data. You can build data models using tools like Excel and SQL to evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of various programs and experiments. You will prove your hypotheses through operational experiments and running a/b tests.

  • You can influence across our organization. You will partner with teams like Operations, Enterprise Partner Managers, Product, Finance, Engineering and more to create strategic plans and harness opportunities while gaining buy-in from stakeholders and leadership

    We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 10+ years of experience. You’ve succeeded in high-performing cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience).

  • You have 2+ years of people management experience. You will manage a team and drive outcomes through your own work and those that report to you.

  • You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or related field.
