About the Team

The Risk & Insurance team at DoorDash is responsible for all corporate insurance at the company. We are a growing and exciting function that helps DoorDash manage risk and safety with a close lens on our bottom line. The team is divided into multiple subgroups: Actuarial, Claims Operations, and Risk Management & Mitigation. We seek minds eager to help shape this evolving team and align with our DoorDash collaborators.

About the Role

As a Risk and Insurance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in protecting our assets, reputation, and long-term viability by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various facets of our operations. This position is essential in shaping our risk management strategy, fostering a culture of risk awareness, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    We’re excited about you because you have…

  • 3+ years of previous insurance, claims management, risk management, insurance procurement or brokerage, or other applicable work experience.

  • A team player mentality, able to work effectively with strategic partners across all business areas to influence and effectively explain complex risk concepts and strategies to non-insurance specialists.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, such as filing and maintaining policies, invoices, audit data, Google Drive, COIs, and contracts to ensure they are easily accessible and up to date.

  • The ability to prepare and present detailed reports to management and relevant stakeholders on the current risk profile, mitigation efforts, and recommendations for addressing any gaps in the risk management framework.

  • Strong analytical capabilities to assess risk and make data-driven decisions.

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role also includes opportunities for equity grants.

California Pay Range:

$112,000 — $168,000 USD
