Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with a strong background in family law. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to efficiently manage client files, assist with legal documentation, and support attorneys in their daily operations. Candidates should be familiar with modern legal software platforms and have a proactive approach to handling administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain client files in cloud-based systems, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials.
• Record billable hours accurately in .1 increments, ensuring at least three hours daily.
• Create and update pleadings indexes to maintain comprehensive case records.
• Draft legal forms such as substitution of attorney and notice of new address.
• Conduct intake calls with potential clients, gathering essential information and providing initial support.
• Set up client files systematically upon receipt to ensure smooth case management.
• Manage attorney calendars, scheduling appointments and deadlines effectively.
• Utilize software platforms such as Clio Manage, Clio Grow, RingCentral, and Box for seamless workflow.
• Assist with mailing documents and checks when necessary and support office management tasks as needed.
Requirements
• Minimum of three years of experience in a family law firm.
• Must be based locally to assist with occasional in-person tasks such as mailing documents and office management.
