About the Role

As part of reshaping the future of Finance, Gap Inc. is embarking on a digital and process transformation within the Finance organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director - Finance Business Intelligence & Data Governance. You will be responsible for creating the strategy for business intelligence tools like PowerBI and Oracle Narrative Reporting and define and implement strong financial data governance. You will be a diverse leader that can lead internal and external resources with a process improvement mindset using six sigma principles.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of finance and accounting principles, as well as a strong background in Power BI development, data analysis, and visualization. They will lead effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and lead projects with a process improvement mindset using six sigma principles.

What You'll Do

Lead the design, development, and deployment of automated financial reporting and analysis solutions.

Lead the collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and Business Intelligence, to identify reporting requirements and design automation solutions.

Develop and implement the strategy and best practices for data modeling, visualization, and dashboard design to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability

Provide leading practices, technical guidance, training, and support to the finance team on Power BI usage, troubleshooting, and optimization

Stay up to date with advancements in Power BI and related technologies, recommending and implementing new features and functionalities to enhance data analytics capabilities

Leveraging Oracle Narrative Reporting platform and partnering with the Controllership, use best practices to lead the automation of financial report generation and distribution.

Develop the strategy to identify and implement opportunities to leverage process improvement methodologies, streamlining and improving financial reporting processes.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and data security protocols in financial reporting automation efforts.

Partnering with Enterprise-wide data and governance initiative(s), define Strategy and oversee data governance processes and ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations

Lead a team consisting of BI developers, process improvement analysts, and external vendors, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Who You Are:

Minimum 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years leading Power BI projects or teams

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS/CIS or related field.

Expertise in Power BI development, data modeling, and visualization techniques

Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and other data manipulation and analysis tools

Excellent project management skills, able to effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities

Proven experience in developing and implementing Power BI solutions for financial reporting.

Strong expertise in Oracle Narrative Reporting platform.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting

Strong communication and presentation skills, able to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience in data governance and compliance, familiarity with data privacy and security regulations

Knowledge of process improvement frameworks i.e., Six Sigma.

Salary Range: $147,200 - $212,100 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
