Robert Half Bookkeeper in San Francisco, California

Description

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing financial records, including sales, receipts, payments, and tax payments. The ideal candidate is familiar with all accounting procedures and can manage daily financial transactions end-to-end. You will need to have experience in general bookkeeping and possess strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process in a timely manner.

  • Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month.

  • Monitor financial transactions and reports.

  • Process accounts receivable and payable, and manage invoices and tax payments.

  • Manage company ledgers and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearend close processes.

  • Review and implement financial policies.

  • Create and analyze financial reports.

  • Ensure that all necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled.

  • Regularly maintain and update the company's financial records.

  • Oversee the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.

    Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper.

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software.

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.

  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

  • Knowledge of business and accounting terms including P& L, business taxes, depreciation, accruals, and prepaid expenses.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Certificate or associate’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
