Department of Parks & Recreation Sr. Maintenance Aide - Auto Shop Admin. in San Diego, California

The reporting location is San Diego, CA. The Senior Maintenance Aide reports directly to the Heavy Equipment Mechanic and is under the supervision of the District Maintenance Chief. The Senior Maintenance Aide, on a temporary or seasonal basis only, performs various administrative functions, assisting with purchasing inventory. Unskilled manual labor in cleaning up and maintaining State property and does other related work.

This position performs the following duties:

Completes routine paperwork such as vehicle mileage logs, monthly vehicle inspections, vehicle maintenance logs (std 271) vehicle repair history log book, maintains documents and current logs as required by government and state agencies. Provide information/coordination to maintain the automotive maintenance program in Maximo Database. Email field staff on upcoming routine maintenance on car, truck, Gator, or Golf Cart Maintenance Program.

Assists Heavy Equipment Mechanic in filing Requisition Forms to purchase/service, vehicles/equipment. Maintains and tracks inventory of parts and supplies. May reach out to vendors for quotes and work with District procurement team to follow state procedures and purchasing guideline.

Fills out Monthly Time Reports, Vehicle Usage Reports, and other required documents.

Shop Maintenance: Regularly mops, cleans, and maintains the Auto Shop according to the County of San Diego Health Department standards for environmental health and safety. A State Park approved uniform is required for this position.

This position is limited to 189 days per year and will work Monday-Thursday 7:00am- 5:30pm
