Actalent Senior System Engineer in San Diego, California
Space Systems Engineering opportunity in San Diego, CA
Responsibilities:
The System Engineer will support requirements analysis, trade studies, system and interface design, system integration
This position will work closely with other systems engineers, Subject Matter Experts, software engineers, and hardware engineers to support system engineering tasks throughout the program lifecycle
Successful candidate can look forward to a fast-paced, diverse work environment providing Engineering support for multiple project teams
Support internal and external interface development and documentation
Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, interfaces, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
Develop new and novel methodologies for improving system integration
Employ new technologies to solve problems and then apply those solutions
Requirements:
15 years bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or +10 years with Masters
10+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience in “Space level designs.”
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital design.
Experience in the following areas:
High-speed digital design work
Fundamentals of signal and power integrity
Must have familiarity with “Space level” parts:
Manufacturers and vendors.
Radiation Parts levels for “TID, SEU, SEL.”
NASA Part screening levels
VPX design/specification+ (plus but not needed)
Understanding of low voltage power regulation solutions
Integration of hardware into multi-functional systems
Familiarity with the challenges of taking a product from design through to production.
PCB layout and routing rules understanding
Understanding and development of system architecture designs with (NASA level) space parts
