Insight Global Procurement Specialist in San Diego, California
Job Description
Role Overview:
-Work with suppliers in the Forging and Machining Supply Chain to ensure materials are available for global locations based on customer needs.
-Improve and maintain supplier performance in quality, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage suppliers daily and strategically (place orders, follow up, resolve issues, communicate demand, prepare and negotiate contracts).
-Provide timely support to internal and external clients.
-Follow corporate and Supply Chain policies, prioritize safety, and adhere to company values.
-Oversee strategic suppliers, work within a team, and report to a Supply Chain Manager.
-Lead and participate in projects supporting organizational goals.
-Work in an office with occasional visits to production areas and supplier sites (may involve travel).
Skills and Competencies:
-Supply Chain Management: Ensure procurement processes meet standards, build relationships, manage risks.
-Supplier Management: Handle moderately complex suppliers, manage costs, maintain relationships.
-Supplier Selection: Define buyer-supplier relationships, support sourcing and selection.
-Contract Management: Develop and manage contracts, lead negotiations, track performance.
-Negotiation: Create and execute strategies for complex items, resolve risks.
-Cost Management: Apply business strategies, analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
-Purchasing Execution: Manage purchase orders, resolve issues, analyze cost models.
-Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, promote cross-functional teamwork.

Skills and Requirements
-Bachelors degree with 5-7 years of purchasing experience or Masters degree with 3-5 years of purchasing experience
-Experience with ERP software and MS Office Suite. -Supply Chain Certification (ASCM, APICS, etc.).
-Affiliation with professional purchasing organizations.
-6-Sigma certification (Blackbelt or Greenbelt).
-Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. null
