Description
Our client, a leading organization in the property management industry, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll processing, multi-state compliance knowledge, and a passion for delivering accurate and timely payroll services. Responsibilities:
Process full-cycle payroll for employees across multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Maintain payroll records, including employee time and attendance, PTO, and benefits deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including multi-state payroll processing.
Collaborate with HR to update employee status changes, new hire onboarding, and terminations.
Process garnishments, levies, and other payroll deductions as required.
Prepare payroll-related journal entries and assist with reconciliations.
Review and finalize payroll reports before processing payments.
Assist in year-end tasks, including generating and distributing W-2s and other tax forms.
Work with management to report on payroll data and trends for budgeting and forecasting.
Address employee inquiries regarding paychecks, tax withholdings, and deductions.
Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in the property management or real estate industry.
Proficiency with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or similar platforms).
Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and tax laws.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas).
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
Knowledge of property management or real estate payroll structures is highly desirable.
