Northrop Grumman NATO Program Manager - Secret Clearance in San Diego, California

Are you ready to start defining possible with Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems is seeking an Assistant Program Manager (APM 1) to join our diverse team of professionals for the NATO Program.

Program Manager job scope includes managing a segment of the NATO AGS program to include development, testing, and fielding of new hardware/software through coordination of Contract Change Boards, to include Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). Program Manager role includes primary responsibility for cost, schedule, quality, and risk/opportunity management for your assigned scope. You will be responsible for the direct management of contracts from proposal development and negotiations thru execution completion, to include establishing milestones, monitoring master schedules, and managing budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) tools. You will act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss schedule, technical performance, and addressing changing contractual specifications. You will be responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinate team members. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting contract requirements and program objectives.

You will be responsible for providing leadership to a multi-disciplinary team to accomplish the delivery of all contractual requirements. A combination of Business and Technical competence is required, to include working knowledge of procedures and practices. Communication and decision-making skills are vital to being able to identify core issues, develop resolution plans, and follow through to implementation. Ability to (re)prioritize and come up with creative solutions and pivot is required to support an environment with changing requirements and needs of the customer. Independent and self-motivated working skills required to take ownership and responsibility for contracts and directly address issues while being able to identify when to elevate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 8 years of relevant program/project management experience with 3 years of leadership experience; or Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of program/project management experience and 3 years of leadership experience; or Master's Degree with a minimum of 2 years program/project management experience and 3 years of leadership experience.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.

  • Current DoD Secret clearance.

  • Ability to be obtain and maintain Special Program access.

  • Willing and able to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global Hawk or Triton Program experience with prior Program Management experience.

  • Direct Commercial Sale or Foreign Military Sales experience.

  • New business development/capture and/or proposal development experience.

  • Experience with Risk and Opportunity management.

Salary Range: $126,600 - $189,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
