Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, KSL Resorts. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

To excel in the role, you must fully understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel, ensuring that these values are reflected in the operation of the Pastry department. Prioritizing tasks and working efficiently with limited supervision is crucial, as is being detail-oriented and capable of multitasking effectively. Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace is essential for clear communication and teamwork. Excellent communication, follow-up, and organizational skills are necessary, along with the physical ability to twist, grasp, push, pull, bend, squat, and lift regularly. Adherence to PPE usage and safe handling of tools and equipment is required to maintain a safe working environment.

Primary responsibilities include leading and motivating the Pastry team, ensuring quality control, and maintaining smooth operations. This involves monitoring product quality and presentation, enforcing health department sanitation laws, and controlling food costs without compromising quality. You will supervise preparation, quality, and quantity of baked items, maintain equipment and cleanliness, and develop new seasonal recipes. Active participation in budgeting, staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring is expected. Ensuring staff is well-groomed, uniformed, and trained in safe work practices is essential. Compliance with service standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols is a must, along with collaborating effectively with all departments as part of a cohesive team.

The salary for this position is $95,000 – $105,000, based on experience.
