Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety CoordinatorJob Description
We are seeking an entry-level Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator with over two years of experience within a shipyard environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing site walks, writing EHS compliance reports, completing safety logs, and interacting with all departments to ensure compliance with OSHA and government guidelines. Additionally, the candidate will lead Injury Illness Prevention Program safety trainings for employees.
Responsibilities
Perform site walks around the shipyard to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
Write and manage EHS documentation and reports.
Conduct audits and report conditions to the EHS Manager.
Coordinate and lead safety trainings for employees.
Essential Skills
Environmental Health & Safety experience (2+ years).
OSHA 30 certification.
Must be a US Citizen .
DBIDS certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in performing and scheduling safety trainings.
Familiarity with OSHA and government guidelines.
Experience working in a shipyard.
Leading Injury Illness Prevention Program (training available if necessary).
OSHA 5400 - Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Maritime Industry.
OSHA 5410 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Maritime Industry.
OSHA 3095 - Electrical Standards.
OSHA 521 - OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene.
Work Environment
The position is set in a shipyard repair and maintenance environment, requiring familiarity with such settings. The work culture is supportive, with valued employees and collaborative departments, offering opportunities for growth within the EHS field. The team structure includes oversight by the Director of EHS, supported by an EHS Supervisor and Coordinator III. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
