Description
Robert Half is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join the growing team of one of our prominent clients in [insert industry, e.g., healthcare, hospitality, retail]. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in organized and fast-paced environments while delivering exceptional support to the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and manage a high volume of accounts payable transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
Accurately code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers.
Reconcile payments, vendor invoices, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Review payment requests for proper approvals and policy compliance.
Prepare check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
Maintain a pristine vendor database, ensuring contact information and payment details are up to date.
Assist in month-end closing by preparing accounts payable entries and reconciliations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to resolve any payment issues or discrepancies.
Respond promptly to vendor inquiries related to payments, balances, or discrepancies.
Requirements
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a bachelor’s degree is a plus.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with three-way match processes is a plus.
Certification in accounts payable (e.g., APM or CAPA) is highly desirable.
