Robert Half Network Engineer in San Antonio, Texas

Description We are in search of a Network Engineer based in San Antonio, Texas. This role is central to our operations, requiring expertise in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of various network devices and services. This role provides an opportunity to contribute significantly to our infrastructure and security, with responsibilities ranging from performing system upgrades to implementing security tools.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and install network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and QoS

• Conduct network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations

• Monitor system performance, ensuring system availability and reliability

• Oversee system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve network issues

• Adhere to established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

• Implement security tools, policies, and procedures in coordination with the security team

• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

• Deploy Cisco end point protection, troubleshoot AnyConnect, and deploy full Cisco DNA

• Install and manage over 100 Cisco Access Points

• Utilize skills in Cisco AnyConnect, Cisco Networking, Cisco Access Points, and Cisco Catalyst Switches Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Network Engineer for a minimum of 2 years

• Proficient in handling Cisco AnyConnect

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco Networking

• Familiarity and practical experience with Cisco Access Points

• Proficient in operating and managing Cisco Catalyst Switches

• Possession of Cisco CCNA certification

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently

• Proven record of maintaining high security and integrity controls

• Demonstrable knowledge of network architecture, designs, and operations

• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively and efficiently

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
