Human Resources Coordinator

Position

SAS has an opening for an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to assist with implementation or management of multiple programs, benefits and policies. The Coordinator must be fluent in English and Spanish, have the ability to travel whenever needed and be experienced in multiple HR areas with the ability to organize, teach and grow a team.

Job Responsibilities

Technical

  • Have a working knowledge of payroll and HRI systems (ADP, Microsoft AX, LeadTec, etc.). Be ready to dig in and understand the system and partner with payroll, manufacturing and other groups to get the most out of these systems.

  • Teach, train and develop HR staff members to meet SAS’s changing needs.

  • Have knowledge of the use of 401K, health insurance and welfare plans, FMLA and other employee benefit options.

  • Ensure compliance in the areas of EEO, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, WC, OFCCP regulations and others required by law.

  • Support and promote Health and Safety initiatives and have an active and ongoing commitment to safety by directing and/or working with our Safety Manager and Nursing staff to help get programs tailored and rolled out in an efficient manner.

  • Ensure understanding and consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and standards through coaching, one-on-one communication & policy interpretation.

  • Have worked with or learn to utilize an internship program to grow college talent.

  • Have experience in writing/re-writing police manuals.

  • Understand KPIs, SOPs and how to find and monitor data.

  • Ability to research what you don’t know to find answers.

  • Always come up with new and innovative ideas to help improve our systems and policies.

People

  • Have intuitive interviewing and people skills and a keen emotional intelligence.

  • Serve as a resource to managers for employee relations. Uphold policies and practices to establish positive employer-employee relations and promote a high employee morale.

  • Promote high professional standards, positive interpersonal relations and utilize a problem-solving approach in all situations.

  • Possess the ability to make decisions and handle difficult workplace situations calmly and discreetly. Have the strength of character to ask for help before making difficult decisions.

  • Serve as a knowledge resource to the management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.

  • Always come up with new and innovative ideas to help grow our people.

Job Qualifications

  • Possess and display respect and empathy for co-workers, their team and SAS.

  • Have excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Spanish.

  • Exercise absolute confidentiality and demonstrate a strong neutral Human Resources perspective in employee interactions.

  • Be a team player that can work well with others at all levels of the organization.

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities.

  • Maintain organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Must be mature, responsible, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

  • Must have a passport and the ability to travel whenever needed. Will need to travel to facilities in San Antonio, Del Rio, Acuna, Mexico and sometimes for Retail HR matters so must have an open flexible schedule.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or equivalent work experience with HR certification.

  • At least 3-years of HR management experience with an emphasis on systems and policies. The ability to effectively relate and interact with employees is a given. Manufacturing HR experience is a strong plus.

  • Knowledge and experience in some or all areas of employment law, compensation/payroll, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, health & safety, and employee engagement & development and retention.

  • Have a working knowledge of payroll and HRI systems & technology (ADP, NovaTime, Leadtec, and Microsoft AX are strong plusses).

  • Fluent in English and Spanish with ability to effectively communicate in both.
