Description We are seeking a Controller based in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be overseeing financial statements such as balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will direct Accounting Managers and department operations, compile financial reports, and implement policies and procedures for financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Assist management with key financial decisions.
• Prepare essential financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of the business.
• Supervise employees who work under the controller in preparing financial reports and budgets.
• Monitor the company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs.
• Stay up-to-date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
• Understand the financials of the company to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate all account operational functions.
• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.
• Coordinate activities of external audits.
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process.
• Manage the budget process.
• Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes.
• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems.
• Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
• Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff.
• Use accounting software systems, enterprise resource planning, and other skills to perform job duties efficiently and accurately. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with DCAA requirements and protocols
• Knowledge and experience in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Proficiency in ERP Solutions
• Strong understanding and experience in Accounting Functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge and experience in Auditing
• Familiarity and experience with Budget Processes
