Workforce Trainer, Transition to Teaching in
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
- Incumbent will be responsible for all tasks and activities related to the delivery of course content including test administration, record keeping, and management of an effective learning environment.
- The approved training curriculum must be followed, per SLCC policy, assuring successful completion of identified student learning outcomes.
- Provide online, lecture, or hybrid instruction which promotes mastery of subject knowledge and skills as well as student learning success.
- Give timely feedback to students on assignments, quizzes, exams, projects; clearly communicate expectation related to coursework; maintain open line of communication with program manager; maintain student records as required by the College and program manager; conduct pre-post course survey; adapt curriculum to meet current industry trends and/or standards.
- Incorporate class discussions, student presentations, assignments, exams, and hands-on activities to engage and assess student learning outcomes.
- Support program assessment initiatives.
- Follow SLCC policies and procedures.
- Revise/update curriculum as needed
- Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization
- Maintains professional etiquette in communications with class participants, staff, faculty, and administrators
- Provides appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments
- Returns graded assignments in a timely fashion per department standards
- Maintains attendance records and grades
- Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of class participant performance
- Informs class participants of progress-to-date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines
- Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment
- Prepares and submits incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy
- Maintains professional and collegial behavior
- Handles/responds to class participant concerns/complaints, and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 12 days)
- Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure
- Completes all required employee trainings
- Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines
- Provides ADA accommodations as requested
- Other job related duties as required
