Superintendent - Roads and Haulage * Global company with a world-class reputation for safety and performance * Collaborative work environment * Role-based in Salt Lake City, UT About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for a Superintendent - Roads and Haulage based in Salt Lake City to lead a large team of Operators in the Largest Open Pit Mine in the world. This role will report to the Manager Execution - Roads and Haulage. This role is critical for safely meeting our daily mine production plan. In this role you will: * Provide leadership and direction to large team of supervisors and operators (road and haulage) and collaborate with the loading, drill and blast teams. * Build the capability of the team through identifying and facilitating challenging and diverse learning experiences, while fostering an inclusive team environment. * Drive conformance to business area targets and individual objectives. * Sustain or implement where needed, pre-start meetings, leadership in the field sessions, effective one-on-one reviews and effective cascading coaching sessions to safely achieve the mine plan. * Identifies and implements improvement opportunities for streamlining the work process. * Actively promotes compliance with standardized processes, systems and tools across the mine. * Collaborates with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation, and improvement. * Forecast labor and fleet requirements for short term planning needs to deliver plan and cost objectives. * Facilitate formal and non-formal incident investigations * Support "Rapid Problem Solving" exercises for all safety incidents that are not considered "significant or are considered a potential fatality" * Facilitate Safety forums with our operators * Facilitate Task Force discussions with our operators to drive self-ownership and empowerment at the right level. * Safely achieve the mine plan while fostering an engaged work force. What you'll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * 5+ years of relevant mining experience; * Ability to engage effectively (written and verbal) with stakeholders at all levels * Strong CMS management knowledge i.e. SAP, Prospect, Business Solution * Strong MS Office Skillset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with Business Intelligence software It will also be beneficial if you have: * Relevant college degree * Business Improvement experience * Inner-safe Essential Factors experience * Experience working in a mining, industrial or construction environment * Experience with Earth Moving Haulage and Mobile Equipment * Human Performance skills * Knowledge of MSHA regulations.
