The Role
The Software Developer II will partner in an agile team environment to design, develop, code, test and debug software or enhancements to existing software that support our Billing Applications. You will develop solutions across many disciplines and be responsible for explaining solutions and procedures. Our current project involves analyzing applications as part of our move to the cloud, providing innovative solutions, identifying dependencies, and implementing changes to ensure the project's success. This role requires someone who is a self-starter that can research and quickly understand an application, offering solutions, and implement.
Location
This role is a fully remote position within the United States.
The Main Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with team members, including developers, testers, and product owners, to ensure that all aspects of the software development process are covered. This includes designing, coding, testing, debugging, and providing support for new software or enhancements to existing software Work closely with the team to build technical solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Engage with team members to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. This involves regular communication and collaboration to ensure that the solutions developed meet the needs of the business.
Collaborate with developers to create automated tests that are both effective and efficient. This includes defining test cases, implementing automated testing frameworks, and ensuring that tests are run regularly to catch any issues early.
Develop unit tests to verify the functionality of individual components, debug integration issues to ensure that different parts of the system work together seamlessly and deploy emergency patches to fix critical issues as they arise.
Develop systems that are robust, scalable, and dependable, meeting the target Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for performance and reliability. This involves careful planning and execution to ensure that the systems are delivered on schedule.
Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing them based on their importance and urgency. This requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
What We Look For in a Candidate
2 – 4+ years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, and coding best practices.
Experience with applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint.
Experience with various development languages including but not limited to C#, SQL.
Experience with various database management packages including but not limited to: MSSQL, Oracle.
Experience with data structuring tools including but not limited to: XSD, XML, JSON.
Experience with code versioning tools including but not limited to: TFS, Git, SVN.
Cloud-based exposure and knowledge of Azure.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
Initiative-taking, organized, dependable, and detail oriented.
Adaptive learner and not afraid to work with new technology.
Strong problem-solving, research, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$66,375 - $88,500 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$69,694 - $92,925 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$73,013 - $97,350 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
