Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Director, Global Vascular Access & Sharps Safety Portfolio has overall responsibility for managing the development and marketing of vascular access and sharps safety consumable medical devices. This role will be responsible for the portfolio strategy, new product development roadmap, product lifecycle management, and achievement of global revenue and profit objectives. Establish key priorities/goals for the year and oversee their successful execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and achieve key revenue and profit goals for all product lines by setting strategic and commercial direction for products. Establish overall product vision/strategy.
  • Provide leadership to product development organization. Champion the global aspect of product development by directing the identification of new and innovative products and solutions for global markets.
  • Drive execution of on-market activities/strategies including: life cycle management, contracting, pricing, clinical marketing, initiatives to improve customer experience.
  • Support manufacturing cost reduction programs.
  • Approve and submit detailed project plans from product core teams to feed into AOP, LRP and Portfolio Planning processes.
  • Develop and maintain underlying cost and economic models for the product lines.
  • Own product pricing strategy and collaborate with other Product owners to develop cohesive contracting and merchandising models.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external customers. Direct cross-functional coordination.
  • Work on special assignments as they arise.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in progressive Medical device leadership roles within complex, matrix enterprises.
  • Demonstrated strong planning and project management skills and the ability to effectively deploy and direct resources.
  • Global company experience ideally gained in a fast paced, evolving environment. An understanding of the multi-channel, diversified product company is preferred.
  • Experienced delivery of products within the healthcare regulatory constraints (i.e, CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485), manufacturing, operations and supply chain transfers within Medical Device environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding/experience of the following on a global level: R&D from concept through launch, marketing/business development and cGMP in a regulated environment.
  • Well-developed experience being a leader of managers, developing and fostering high quality relationships with all levels of the enterprise

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in technical/business/marketing from an accredited college or university is required; additional consideration for MBA
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience in sales, marketing, finance, R&D, program management, general management
  • A history of leading teams and cross-functional organizations through transformational challenges is critical.

Travel Requirements

  • Typically requires travel 10-25% of the time

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • This is largely a sedentary role
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
