The Position & Team
Norstella is seeking an experienced subject matter expert with life science commercial, market access, clinical, HEOR, and epidemiology, experience to join Norstella's pre-sales RWD Solution Architect team. The RWD Solution Architect team plays an integral role in introducing business leaders and healthcare organizations to Norstella capabilities and aligning our RWD, services, and software solutions with their analytic needs to improve healthcare. This position will focus on supporting life science organizations and analytic teams generating real world insights and evidence within commercial, market access, clinical, and HEOR departments.
At Norstella, bringing solutions to our clients is a team effort, with solutions and sales working in tandem. The solution architect team infuses deep knowledge of healthcare patient data, analytic precision, and key industry challenges in the sales process, acting as peers to the buyers and users of our RWD driven solutions. The team leads the capability portion of every sales engagement, including use case development, product demonstration, and product evaluations.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong interest in healthcare and technology, experience analyzing large databases, (such as claims, EMR, and lab data), expertise with applications of study design and common analytic methods for commercial analytics for brand launch/ management, field team targeting, healthcare research, patient outcomes, prescriber trends, and/or clinical trial feasibility. The candidate must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional internal teams.An ability to work in a fast-paced environment, s, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role at Norstella.
Key Responsibilities
Gain trust with client by displaying expertise in client’s field and therapy area, including ability to provide point of view on proper design and implementation of studies using NorstellaLinQ real world data solutions of claims, lab, and/or EHR. Proficient speaking to and working with various large real world healthcare data assets
Prepare for all clients’ capabilities meetings by identifying product need triggers and use cases Display proficiency with a variety of large, complicated healthcare datasets.
Deliver presentations of solutions of offerings. Provide a point of view and tailored product demonstration based on product lifecycle, therapeutic area, and other important considerations.
Develop and execute SQL queries to retrieve specific healthcare data points and generate comprehensive reports.
Become an expert in our market leading low-code real world evidence platform: IHD.
Independently develop analytic projects in IHD for the purpose of showcasing product features, study examples, and analytic methods for product demonstrations and evaluation of software/real world data
In collaboration with sales, identify opportunities for business alignment by supporting pre-sales activities such as solution enablement, thought leadership, and differentiated messaging relevant to various use cases and clinical indications
Lead authoring RFP/RFI responses, engaging other company resources to help as needed, and ensuring that the RFP/RFI is completed on time.
Conduct data extraction and analysis from various healthcare databases to derive insights.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand the data requirements and objectives for each query and analysis.
Identify trends and patterns in healthcare data that can drive business decisions and strategic initiatives.
Stay updated with healthcare industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure data compliance and relevance.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Experience of healthcare databases (e.g., claims, EHR, hospital, registry) and the pros/cons of various sources
Strong understanding of market access strategies, payer and reimbursement dynamics, patient journey HCP prescribing dynamics, and healthcare systems.
Experience designing healthcare analyses, structuring analysis ready datasets, choosing proper analytical methods, and employing appropriate visualization depending on project needs.
Proven experience in data analysis and querying:
Strong technical skills: Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R).
Experience with healthcare data: Understanding of healthcare terminologies, data structures (ICD codes, CPT codes, claims data), and healthcare-specific regulations like HIPAA.
Ability to work independently: Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision ensuring tasks are completed within deadlines.
History of successfully leading various customer relationships and scopes with excellence and grace under pressure, problem solver
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Entrepreneurial spirit, results-oriented individual who is highly motivated, decisive, flexible in thought, and has the creativity to excel
Must be able to travel 10% or more.
10+ years of experience industry experience in a commercial or evidence generating role leveraging RWD (in a commercial facing role in pharma/biotech, business strategy, launch planning, HEOR/Epidemiology/RWE, or consulting for life sciences companies).
Advanced degree in health analytic or clinical field or outstanding industry experience

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $160-200K plus commission. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
