Lumos Language School, Inc located in Salt Lake City, Utah is hiring for a full-time Network Specialist. The Network Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of computer networks and related computing environments within our educational institution. This role is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to network management, hardware and software administration, and ensuring data security and integrity. The Network Specialist's duties include: • Data Backup and Security Configuration: Back up network data and configure security settings and access permissions for groups or individuals to safeguard data integrity. • Network Troubleshooting: Identify the causes of networking problems using diagnostic testing software and equipment, while troubleshooting network or connectivity issues for users. • Documentation and Performance Evaluation: Document network support activities and evaluate LAN/WAN performance data to ensure optimal availability and speed. • Hardware and Software Configuration: Configure WAN/LAN equipment, routers, switches, and install network software, including security or firewall software. • Maintenance and Monitoring: Perform routine maintenance, standard repairs, and test network components, cables, and hardware. Monitor industry sources for updates and vulnerabilities. Requirements: Associate's degree or foreign equivalent in information technology information systems, or a closely related field; or 24 months' experience in position or closely related occupation.
