Description
Position Summary
This is a full time non-exempt position that works the SWING SHIFT. Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of clinical and commercial products. Operates electrical and mechanical test equipment. Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Works on assignments where judgment and initiative is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Primary Duties
Performs all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMerieux's Quality System.
Follow written work instructions and collect all relevant data.
Troubleshoots electromechanical problems
Works with Engineering/Production to implement design and/or process improvements
Maintains records that comply with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
Consults with customer service, instrument production, etc. as needed.
Responsible for maintaining parts and materials in service area.
Training, Education, Experience
Associates degree in technical discipline and/or related on the job training or certifications. One or more years of experience at BioMerieux in a related role will also be considered.
2 years experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to use specialized equipment, read instructions, maintain written records, work from established drawings. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. Experience with soldering, multimeter usage a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
May be required to work while wearing personal protective gear
