Schedule :Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk)8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Primary Purpose :
Facilitates process improvement projects/initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, timeliness, and other performance metrics by utilizing various process improvement tools/methodologies. Designs efficient systems by integrating workforce, machines, materials, and data to deliver a product or provide a service. Collaborates closely with various stakeholders including leadership to ensure successful execution of improvement projects.
Candidates with appropriate experience may qualify for a level II or III position.

Essential Functions :
Analyzes existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
Designs, recommends, and implements new workflows to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Analyzes, designs, recommends, and implements changes to existing workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, track, and improve KPIs.
Applies improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, etc.) to solve complex problems and achieve process goals.
Conducts advanced / multi-faceted data analyses to identify trends, variation, waste, and opportunities for improvement (e.g. statistical analysis including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, design of experiments, etc.).
Leads and supports improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation.
Maintains open and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Presents analysis and recommendations to senior management and/or other groups as requested.
Designs and recommends workflow layouts using AutoCAD in collaboration with the Facilities group.
Designs and drafts custom engineering solutions utilizing 3d printing, machining, sheet metal, and plastic fabrication techniques.
Develops and implements simulation models to analyze the performance of existing or proposed systems to visualize process changes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical and Other Requirements :
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
Qualifications
Education
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or better in Industrial Engineering
Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or related technical field
Training in two or more of the major improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
Two years of experience in process improvement and/or workflow analysis
Experience with at least one of the software applications: AutoCAD, FlexSim, SolidWorks, JMP, Minitab, QI Macros
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent
Experience in a clinical laboratory setting or equivalent
Excellent organization, time management, communication, and presentation skills
Strong listening, negotiating, problem-solving, and project management skills
