Job description

Talent Team is seeking a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our cooking oil recycling team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting used cooking oil from various commercial kitchens to our recycling facility. Job Details:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:00 pm
  • Compensation: $20/hr.
  • *Employment Type: *Long term/ Contract to Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate and maintain a Class A commercial vehicle for the collection and transportation of used cooking oil.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with company and DOT regulations.
  • Navigate predetermined routes to efficiently collect used cooking oil from commercial establishments, including restaurants, hotels, and food manufacturing facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate pick-up schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling and containment of used cooking oil to prevent spills or environmental hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of pick-up and delivery activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service logs.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of cooking oil containers using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on the vehicle, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Professionally represent the company at all times, providing exceptional customer service and promoting positive relationships with clients and the community.
  • Continuously strive to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety in all aspects of job performance.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience, preferably in the transportation or waste management industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for the operation of commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. Spanish
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight trips.
