Salida School District R-32-J Elementary Art Teacher in Salida, Colorado
POSITION: Elementary Art Teacher
Beginning date of employment: August 4, 2025
DUTIES: * Provide an introduction to the elements of art through different media. * Expose students to various techniques and the proper use of art tools and supplies. * Develop and implement daily lesson plans based on Colorado state standards. * Observe and evaluate students performance, behavior, and social development. * Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students varying needs. * Planning and conducting activities for a balanced program of instruction for student s diverse backgrounds and abilities.
REQUIREMENTS: * Must verify past teaching experience * Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or Art Education or a related field. * Must hold a valid Colorado Department of Education of teaching certificate or qualify for an Alternative License.
PREFERRED SKILLS: * Successful teaching experience at the lower elementary K-4 school level. * Preference will be given to candidates with an endorsement in the visual arts and with multiple endorsements * Be able to work effectively and create a positive rapport with students, staff, administration, parents and community members. * Experience using technology to support instruction
WAGE: $42,500/ Year * Salary is based on a 156 day work calendar.
