Pacific Coast Producers, a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a talented and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Production Facility in Salem, OR. Our Salem facility produces maraschino cherries and other cherry products in various styles, colors, and flavors and employs between 70-100 employees. Pay Rate: \$31.26 per hour (Effective May 1st, the hourly wage will increase to \$32.61). Full time/ 40 hours per week with some weekend and overtime hours required when needed. This position is part of a seniority based Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA) and requires work on various shifts. Must be available to work swing shift (3pm to midnight). The Maintenance Mechanic performs the following duties: -Monitor the condition of all industrial production equipment. -Perform installation, troubleshooting and repairs to production equipment, machinery, and general production facilities. -Read, interpret and implement blueprints, prints, and drawings. -Perform fabrication for plant machinery. Cut and form parts and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment. -Assist electricians as needed to install, repair and replace equipment. -Perform arc and gas welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. -Maintain heating system, ventilation, boiler and other equipment. -Perform maintenance and repair to forklifts and semi-trucks. -Perform general carpentry, plumbing and pipefitting. -Maintain a clean, organized and hazard free work environment. Requirements -Four or more years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Associate\'s degree from a mechanical, electrical, or electronic technology program may be substituted for one year of required experience. -Proven experience in various areas such as welding, forklift mechanics, plumbing, HVAC, boiler maintenance, instrumentation, machine adjustment and repair, and carpentry which may be assessed by a practical exam. -Possess effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and internal customers. -Certified to operate a lift truck operator or able to become such. -Able to work overtime as needed.
