Robert Half Public Senior Accountant in Saint Peters, Missouri
Description Are you an experienced accounting professional with expertise in SAP and a proven track record in the process manufacturing environment? Robert Half is working with a well-established organization in St. Peters that is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with fixed assets and overseeing various tax-related functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, reconciliation, and ensuring monthly book closures for the St. Peters plant.
Take ownership of the fixed asset capitalization process, including coordination of Appropriation Requests, tracking capital expenditures with Internal Orders (IO), setting up fixed assets, settling IOs to their respective locations, and overseeing the annual fixed assets inventory count.
Provide regular interface with the Controller and purchasing teams to support sales and use tax filing requirements and assist in resolving related issues.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the audit process.
Support various ad hoc reporting, analyses, and tasks as requested.
Experience:
4+ years of accounting experience in a process manufacturing environment is required.
Expertise in SAP, with a strong focus on the Financial/Controlling (FI-CO) modules and specific experience in fixed asset management.
Strong background in capital project setup and asset capitalization is a big plus.
Experience with sales and use tax preparation would be highly advantageous.
Skills:
Proficiency in SAP FI-CO modules essential.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel — must be comfortable with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and other advanced functions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization effectively. Requirements
