Job Title: Assembler / Tear Down Technician

Job Description

This assembler will disassemble pumps used for water and oil industries. They will break down the pump and use micrometers and calipers to measure. They will also use torque and impact tools. After the disassembly and measurements, they will provide the information to their partner so that they can give their customer a quote on the repair.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble pumps for water and oil industries.

  • Measure components using micrometers and calipers.

  • Use torque and impact tools.

  • Provide measurement information to partner for repair quotes.

  • Perform inspection, assembly, and testing of pumps and compressors.

  • Assemble blowers and exhausters according to blueprints.

  • Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance Departments to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  • Apply standard work practices.

  • Follow all safety rules and environmental regulations.

  • Utilize required safety equipment when appropriate.

  • Adhere to 6S (5S) principles.

  • Operate cranes and fork trucks to move equipment and parts (training and certification provided).

  • Use machinery and hand tools as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • Assembly experience.

  • Ability to perform repetitive lifting/carrying of up to 20 lbs.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Core competencies include the ability to use various power (pneumatic) hand tools.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality assembly work with attention to detail and adherence to standards.

  • Familiarity with impact, torque, and hand tools.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, micrometers, and calipers is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing environment that is climate controlled with both heating and cooling. Technicians usually work in pairs in a shop environment. The facility operates Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, with the possibility of overtime until 4:30pm. The team includes 15 Service Technicians, 1 manual machinist, 2 Assemblers, and about 4 people in the warehouse. Candidates must have their own steel toe boots.

$19-$20/HR

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
